Introduction :-
Baruva is one of the oldest beaches of the state of Andhra Pradesh known for its beauty and historical importance. The Mahendra Tanaya river merges into the Bay of Bengal at this place. An erstwhile coastal and fishing port, nature has endowed this region with abundant beauty surrounding the shimmering beach and the golden sands with luscious green paddy fields and coconut groves. Some travel enthusiasts called it as ' Goa of the East '. The main town of Baruva is located a little away from the sea beach. Apart from the sea coast, there are some ancient temples which are added attractions of this place. The most notable one is the Kotilingeswara Swami Temple. History:-Baruva Beach was once a seaport during British rule till 1948. In the year 1917, during the month of July, a ship loaded with goods sank in the sea here. The tragic event was commemorated with the erection of a pillar in the area. The harbor is dysfunctional now but there used to be an old lighthouse as a sign of the once bustling seaport Baruva was till 2000. Baruva Beach got its name from the village Baruva where it is located.

Baruva Rail Way Station is the very nearby railway stations to Baruva. Another nearest railway station to Baruva is Sompeta which is located in and around 6.8 kilometer distance. Also you can consider railway Stations from near By town Ichchapuram. Many tourist consider Beherampur for nearest station and take a share car to reach Baruva

Key attractions on Baruva Beach which literally captivate visitors are the serene atmosphere that takes you close to nature and famous temples of Durga or rest two Kotilingeswara Swamy Temple and Janardhana Swamy Temples that define the holiness of this region. Greeneries and sandy appearance of this beach mesmerizes all tourists.
Prominent coconut nursery and coir industry keeps Baruva apart. In fact they are prime attractions where a grand seaport had operated while British ruled India.

Accommodation Facilities :-
Haritha Beach Resort in Baruva (thrown open to public in May 2014) is the only place for decent and comfortable stay. They provided sufficient space for car parking. The food served at the inhouse restaurant is basic but very tasty. The chicken fried rice served by them deserves special mention. The staff at the resort are courteous, pro-active and ensures that guests feel at home.

Good Restaurant en route :-
1. Chilka Dhaba at Barkul. It’s next to the Chilika lake and serves great seafood. They especially recommend the chilli prawns and giant crab.
2.Between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, there is a small place known as Pahala. Almost fifty sweet shops on each side of the road for nearly hundred meters – this place is the rasgula district of Odisa.
